With the rapid growth of industries, the employers have been expanding their activities by opening new offices/branches/factories in all corners of the country. As a result thereto the transfer of employees has become inevitable.
Transfer have thus caused a lot of bad blood, anger, frustration and disgust. There are no two opinions that if transfers are done for improving the functioning then it is most welcome, but if it is done with ill intentions or for punishment of employees then it certainly causes disputes and frustration. As per rules, an employer has the right to transfer the employees from one place to another. Non-compliance of the transfer order by an employee also amounts to misconduct. There are, however, certain norms which are to be observed by an employer while transferring any employee.
This book contains the ratio of decisions of the Supreme Court and High Court with rights and restrictions for the employer to transfer its employee.
